Our Grasses

We proudly offer the best grasses that we know can serve you best. Oklahoma has diverse weather patterns, so often, your grass will take damage from the elements. From intense heat in the summers to turning brown in the winter, your grass goes through a lot. We can recommend a grass to best suit your lawn while keeping your yard usage in mind.

Mayer’s Zoysia

This turfgrass is a finely textured zoysiagrass typically used for home lawns, golf courses, and sports fields. This grass does well in the full sun and tolerates shade well. This turfgrass recovers well from damage and lays thickly compact. Because it’s so compact, it resists weeds and doesn’t require as much fertilization. It thrives during the heat and survives the cold winters. Mayer’s Zoysia is resistant to disease and insect infestations.

419 Bermuda

This other type of bermudagrass is also a dark green turfgrass with a fine texture. 419 Bermuda provides excellent disease and weed resistance. At the proper length, anywhere from ¾ to 1 ½ inch, this grass type gives a great impact-absorbant cushion for home lawns, athletic fields, parks, and greenways. 419 Bermuda can withstand close mowing and is pretty disease resistant. It can rapidly spread and recover well from damage and is more resilient in winter months when any grass is usually dormant.

Astro Bermuda

This hybrid bermudagrass is a dense, low-growing turfgrass that spreads rapidly. It has a fine texture with soft blades. This grass is perfect for walking and playing on because of the soft cushion it provides. Astro Bermuda grass also recovers from damage more easily than other bermudagrasses. This high-quality grass presents with a dark green color and easily compliments your commercial and residential landscapes, parks, golf courses, and athletic fields.

Fescue

Fescue, a cool-season turfgrass, is a perennial grass known for its tolerance against heat, cold, and drought. This grass is well-suited for areas that experience a mix of warm and cool seasons. Typically, this type of grass doesn’t require as much fertilizer as other grass types because of its deep roots. There are several different types of fescue turfgrass, including tall, creeping red, hard, chewings, and sheep fescue grass.

Tall Fescue grass is sometimes also called Kentucky 31 Fescue, known for its coarse appearance. This type of grass is often used in high-traffic areas like athletic fields or commercial sites due to its durability and tolerance. Tall Fescue grass also has a deep root system to maintain its health in periods without rain.

This type of Fescue grass is characterized by its fine blades and deep green color. This type of grass is often added to other grass seeds to reduce fertilization needs and encourage shade tolerance.

This Fescue grass type is often mixed in grass seed blends to increase fertility. It also doesn’t require a lot of mowing. It’s most commonly used in golf course roughs.

This grass is similar to tall fescue because it grows more upright, but it’s fine with thin leaves. This grass type does well in the northern part of the United States and Canada. It’s well known for its drought-resistance.

This kind of Fescue grass is used to reduce erosion and helps to improve soil conditions. This grass does well in a variety of climates and is a cool-season grass.
